Top 5 Female Celebrity Hairstyles of 2006 and Tips to Create Yours

1.) Anything SeduAnd the number one celebrity hairstyle of 2006 is the Sedu hairstyle. Sedu is a precise and extremely effective way of straightening the hair. Sedu can be done with any type of haircut. Most commonly the sedu hairstyle is seen on styles such as the bob, some razor cuts, and feathered or layered cuts. Not only does the sedu style look amazing, sedu is also extremely good for your hair. Sedu styling infuses the hair with much needed moisture and locks it in with the heat.Jennifer Aniston is the most popular celebrity to sport the infamous sedu, with her long silky locks. Another amazing actress who's locks are full of the sedu style moisture is Angelina Jolie.Paris Hilton, Kimberly Clarkson, Faith Hill, Jessica Simpson, Kellie Pickler, and Ashley Scott also had the sedu style in 06 accompanying, or complimenting their bob and razor cuts.Sedu is the healthiest way of styling your hair. Infusing your locks with intense moisture with a flat iron, or a hairdryer and round brush. Most people think that you lose much coveted volume of the hair with a sedu style. This is not true. If you start out with a hairdryer and a round brush, the round brushes effect is to pump the hair with volume. After using the round brush and hair dryer, if you want even more sedu results then use the flat iron as well. This will give your hair the volume plus the luscious look and feel of silky smooth sedu hair.2.) Short and SexyIn 2006 short was in. There weren't many celebrities that didn't have short hair in 06.But not just any short haircut would do. If you wanted to go short, you had to out do and out style the competition. Some celebrities that sported short and sexy hairstyles were Alyssa Milano with her adorable pixie cut hairstyle, Brittany Murphy with her short, sexy, tousled blonde hair, Christina Aguilera with short retro, tight curls, and last but certainly not least Jennifer Love Hewitt whose dramatic hair makeover left her with extremely modern looking, short wavy hair.

3.) Bob2006 was a big year for the Bob. Seen on more and more celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson, and Kelly Clarkson. A bob hairstyle is when the hair is cut to a length between the chin and the shoulders, then styled by parting on the side, diagonally, or in a specific pattern that you can request. Then by straightening the hair and adding volume you are left with a hairstyle that is straight, sleek, and extremely stunning. 4.) Razor CutsOne of my favorite cuts and styles is the razor cut. The stylist uses a razor to actually cut the ends of the hair, and layer it so that instead of curling under, the hair will now almost 'point' out away from the head. Using a product such as a hair wax to give the hair texture, the style that suit's the razor cut the best is the tousled look. 5.) Curly or WavyIn 06 celebs either had short or long hair, not many in between lengths going around. Short curly hair was popular with Sara Rue with her elegantly perfect curls. Christina Aguilera with short retro curls. Kelly Rowland sporting big multi-colored curls to match her red halter dress. Jessica Biel was spotted showing off her short fine hair with wide 1940's retro curls in 06. At the 2006 Country Music Awards Alison Krauss shined with her stunningly adorable short curly hair parted at an angle. To get your very own retro curls for the new year is simple. All you need is either hot rollers, or a 2" curling iron. Heat protective solution, such as a gel or a heat protective spray. Hairspray, and depending on how you style your lovely curls you may need clips or pins. You should start with towel dried hair. Spray your damp hair with the heat protective spray or gel and brush through.Dry hair with the cool setting on your hair dryer while brushing to keep hair smooth and manageable. When hair is dry, separate hair into sections, from bottom to top, pinning up the hair on top first.Start curling hair from the bottom, spraying with hairspray after desired curl is achieved.Work with sections from bottom to top. This creates volume and texture, and is simply easier to work with.Decide where you want your part and finish curling in that direction. When complete you will be left with big bouncy retro curls, perfect for any occasion.

Latest Hairstyles 2005 And Beyond

A lot of things go in to decide the latest hairstyles and in 2005, many hairstyle trends prospered, including an increased focus on celebrity hairstyles, driven by the popularity of celebrities such as Jessica Simpson.

But wearing the latest celebrity hairstyle is not always advisable. In fact, following the latest hairstyle trend is fine but you may often end up looking like you're having a bad hair day. One day, the latest hairstyle trend may be long flowing tresses while, the very next day, the bald look may be back in vogue.

Choose Your Latest Hairstyle With Care

So, before plunging into the latest hairstyle, make sure it fits in with your face shape, age and lifestyle. Choose a hairstyle with care, keeping in mind your personality as well as the latest hairstyle trends. For example, soft perms are very popular - a soft perm will give volume and bounce to the latest hairstyle, either as a curly hairstyle or a medium length hairstyle. But make sure it looks right for you.

2005 Prom Hairstyles

Reflecting the age-old battle between traditional sophistication and teenage freshness, 2005 prom hair styles were a blend of the classic hair dos and some funky modern hair styles. The 2005 prom hairstyles showed a lot of sophistication, ease, and beauty. Surprisingly, although curls were very much in evidence, one of the many popular 2005 prom hairstyles was the long and straight yet simple look.

2005 Hairstyles

Elsewhere, new hair styles for 2005 included hair of varying lengths, from curly and wavy to sleek and straight. The hat woven style was equally among the categories of the latest fashion in the hair segment. In general, in 2005, there was never just one hair style trend that was hot at any given time, reflecting the increased diversity and individuality in the sector.

Keeping Up-to-date With The Latest Hair Styles

So how do you keep abreast of the latest hairstyles? Well, its easy really:

1. Use the Internet - there are lots of great hairstyle sites, featuring lots of good resources, where you can check out the latest hairstyles, tips and techniques, and product secrets from professional stylists. Browse the latest hairstyles and see which one suits you most, then print it out and take it to your hairdresser.

2. Go to your hair and beauty salon - because hairstyles are constantly changing, stylists, barbers and cosmetologists must keep abreast of the latest fashions and beauty techniques. Here you learn about the latest hair trends, new hairstyles presented by salon professionals with advice on how to achieve them yourself.

3. Read magazines - subscribe to a good hairstyle magazine and you can't go wrong.

Latest Hairstyles - 2006 vintage

So what are the hairstyles of 2006? Well, the latest hairstyle is a combination of different lengths overlaid with textures to bring about an irregular or geometric look. Another very popular look is a sleek modern bob, which seems to have become a popular hairstyle with women who want to sport a sexy hairstyle.

But in 2006, its fair to say that anything goes. In truth, the latest hairstyle can be anything you want it to be - just make sutre its the right hair style for you.

How to Get Celebrity Sedu Hairstyles

Many people watch celebrities for style and trend queues. A recent trend in celebrity hairstyles is the Sedu? hairstyle. Famous women such as Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Lopez use this look. The secret to the sleek and shiny look is the Sedu? Straightening Iron. This flat iron styling tool contains tourmaline crystals which heat up very quickly to anywhere from 210-410 degrees Fahrenheit. Tourmaline is a precious stone that conducts heat very well and also produces negative ions which are responsible for the shine in these hairstyles. These may seem to be extraordinary temperature under which to style your hair, but there are things that can be done to prevent damage and produce a beautiful shiny hairstyle. The Sedu? flat irons run about $129.95, which may seem exspensive but this flat iron is apparently a cinch to use once you are used to it. Experts recommend that you condition with good quality hair conditioner and use a good shampoo as a basis for all heat intensive styling tools. Leave-in conditioner is a good option for just before you style your hair. The basics of hair care apply to achieving the best possible Sedu? style for your type of hair. Experts recommend washing and conditioning regularly and getting the ends trimmed every 6 weeks. No amount of conditioning can cure split ends which can be worsened by heat, be sure to have your ends trimmed every 6 to 8 weeks. The Sedu? isn't the only flat iron with gemstone crystals; many flat iron styling tools are available online and in stores and salons. Unlike traditional flat iron styling tools flat irons with gemstone plates as their heating elements provide an ultra-smooth surface to prevent tugging on the hair which can cause it to break. They also give hair a negative ionic charge taming frizz and adding shine. These plates probably account for their high prices.

The basic Sedu? hairstyle is fairly simple to create and can be done with all lengths and textures of hair, it is recommended that you read the entire owner's manual at least once or twice and having it on hand during your first few uses. Basic instructions are as follows:Style One: Separate hair into 2-inch sections, place sections between flat iron plates, squeeze iron handles together sandwiching the hair between the plates move from root to end. This will create a flat and straight style.Style Two: Place a 2 inch section into the flat iron. Squeezing the handles together from root to end, once you reach the end wind hair around the plates. This will create a style with soft curls.Style Three: Place each 2-inch section into the plates of the flat iron. Squeeze handles together from root to end flip ends out slightly. This will create a style with the ends flipped out slightly. Style Four: Place sections into the iron pressing the handle pieces together upon reaching the end of each section flip the ends in slightly. This will create a style with the ends flipped in.Finish with a conditioning spray and/or a hair spray. Have fun.

How to Create a Celebrity Sedu Hairstyle

Sedu hairstyles have taken America by storm, popularized by Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce Knowles, and other fashion conscious celebrities. Contrary to what you may think, the Sedu hairstyles are not that difficult to achieve. One does not have to go to expensive hair salons to get those amazing sleek sedu hairstyles that make celebrities' hair look soft, silky and super straight. You also do not need those harmful chemicals to straighten your hair, lessening damage to your hair. Here are some ways you can achieve the celebrity Sedu hairstyle on your own.How to Create Celebrity Sedu Hairstyle # 1- Purchase Sedu Ionic Ceramic Pro Flat IronThe first thing you need to do is buy the Sedu Ionic Ceramic pro Flat Iron which is makes use of uniquely patented ceramic plates that are made of tourmaline crystals. You can buy these from hair salons, beauty supplies store, and online stores. How to Create Celebrity Sedu Hairstyle # 2 - Wash HairWash your hair thoroughly with shampoo. Rinse well, and then use conditioner. Leave conditioner on your hair for about 5 minutes before rinsing it off. How to Create Celebrity Sedu Hairstyle # 3 - Towel Dry HairAfter shampooing gently remove excess water by using towel. Do not wring your hair. You may need to use several fluffy towels to remove the water leaving your hair damp and ready to blow dry.How to Create Celebrity Sedu Hairstyle # 4 - Styling ProductsAfter you towel dry, put styling products like mousse, hair gels, or serum. These products can help manage your hair while styling, prevent frizzing, and can protect your hair from heat. Remove as much tangle and curl with a round hair brush made of boar bristle. How to Create Celebrity Sedu Hairstyle # 5 - Blow Dry HairBefore using the Sedu Ionic Ceramic Pro Flat Iron, blow-dry your hair. Use a flat paddle brush to make it easier to dry and would make your hair straighter. Pull your hair in a downward motion, pointing the dryer downward. Do not over-dry; leave a bit of dampness so that when you use the Sedu Ionic Ceramic Pro Flat Iron it will be easier to flatten hair.

How to Create Celebrity Sedu Hairstyle # 6 - Determine StyleStraight hairstyle: After blow-drying your hair start using the Sedu Ionic Ceramic Pro Flat Iron by inserting 2 inch section of hair between the plates gliding down your hair from root to tip. Use a shine spray product and spray on the section of hair that you will iron. Repeat the process until all the sections of your hair had been flat-ironed or completely straightened.Soft curls hairstyle: Use your Sedu Ionic Ceramic Pro Flat Iron, start by inserting a 2-inch section of hair between the plates, and then squeeze the handle together. Slowly glide the flat iron down from the roots to the tips of your hair winding the hair around as you glide down. Repeat the process until all sections are completed. You should end up with soft curls when done.Flip-out and Flip-in hairstyles: Use your Sedu Ionic Ceramic Pro Flat Iron, start by inserting a 2-inch section of hair between the plates, and then squeeze the handle together. Slowly glide the flat iron down from the roots to the tips of your hair, and then slightly flip out the ends. Repeat the process until all sections are completed. You should end up with the flip-out hairstyle. Just the opposite of the flip-out is the flip-in. Instead of flipping out the ends, flip them in.Up do bun hairstyle: After using the Sedu Ionic Ceramic Pro Flat Iron to all the section of your hair as in the Straight Hairstyle, brush back your hair then apply a firm hold hair gel to the top and sides of your hair. Pull your hair up in a tight ponytail then spray the front, sides, and back of your hair with a firm hold spray. Take a 2-inch strip of hair from the underside of the ponytail, and then wrap it around the band of ponytail. This will cover the hair band so that only your hair will show. Secure with pins, and then pull back the remaining hair with a comb. You can take sections of back combed hair and wrap it around your index finger. Create a barrel curl by taking sections of the hair you've just pulled back, and then wrap it around your index finger, pin in place. Continue until all sections of the ponytail has been curled and pinned then spray with firm hold spray. This hairstyle is great for weddings and proms. How to Create Celebrity Sedu Hairstyle # 7 - Final TipsTo achieve the best results, buy reputable and quality hair products. Using products that are recommended by hair professionals would assure you of best results. If you wish to color your hair to enhance your look choose the hair color that will look best with your skin tones. Many hair stylists recommend that you stay within two shades of your natural hair color. You can use highlights to make an impact. There are hair coloring products you can buy to do these on your own. A highlighted flat hair would really look stunning especially if the highlights pop-up over your natural hair color- example a golden brown highlight over your shiny dark brown hair.

Get Celebrity Hairstyles for Less

There are so many celebrities out there to get good hairstyle ideas from that it's hard to accept that we must decide on just one. While we look to the fantasy world of celebrities for our hair-care needs, there are two major realities that each of us must face: 1) the hairstyles aren't always impressive, and 2) a truly awesome look almost always comes with an "awesome" price-tag. Therefore, here are a few examples of adorable, hand-picked celebrity hairstyles followed by a few wallet-friendly styling products crucial in getting the look.(Interesting note: A lot of women are looking to go with a short look since short hair is so hot right now.) #1: Judi Dench - "Soft Crop" (Short)Take the "soft crop" look of Oscar-winning actress Judi Dench. The key to this $200 look is the haircut. Joey Battisti, artistic director at Paul Labrecque East says that he actually uses a razor keep all the ends very "soft" and not hard-edged. First, the hair is washed using a volumizing shampoo and then towel dried. A spray on conditioner is applied to add shine. Then, while the ends of the hair are separated using fingers, a dab of hair pomade is applied to pieces all over the hair while avoiding the roots. Hair can be lightly blow-dried or dried naturally. Recommended products: the Paul Labrecque Volume Silk ($20), Silk Protein ($18) and Shea Hair Butter ($24) that can be found at PaulLabrecque.com.

#2: Cynthia Nixon - "Smart and Sexy" (Short)Next is the $300 "smart and sexy" look of HBO's Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon. Oscar Bond, celebrity stylist and owner of the Oscar Bond Salon in Soho says that first the hair must be clean and wet starting out. Then, a small amount of styling cream is worked through the hair to add shine and help protect it from the straightening iron applied to the roots and slid straight down to the ends. This process is repeated on the sides and the front, maintaining the same hairline to crown motion for each section. This should result in a rather unruly state for your hair! Next, a side part is created by adding a little more styling cream. Hair should be kept sleek and straight as it is brushed to one side, and the excess is then tucked behind the ear. Lastly, the same step is applied to the opposite side. Recommended products for this look are the Mason Pearson Nylon and Natural Bristle Brush ($35) and the Aveda.com Pure-Fume Universal Styling Cream($14). #3: Eva Longoria - "Easy Swirl" (Medium)Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria sports a more casual look that costs upwards of $350. Anthony Linzalone, stylist at the Pierre Michel Salon in New York City, explains how to get it. First, begin with dry hair. A nickel-sized amount of hair cream is distributed lightly and evenly throughout the outer surface while avoiding the scalp. "We want to keep that puff," Linzalone says. Next, the hair is brushed back, up and away from the face using a large natural-bristle brush, and then allowed to fall in a loose off-center part, where a low ponytail is formed by finger-combing the back and sides of the hair using an anti-frizz elastic protected with fabric while making sure not to pull too tightly. Then, make an "easy swirl" by forming the ponytail you made into a little donut shape at the nape of the neck using eight to ten hairpins to anchor the donut against the nape of the neck, maintaining an equal distance between the pins. Lastly, spray with firm holding spray. Recommended products: Bouncy Cr?me by Iso ($10), Finalize Hair Spray by Iso ($15), Mason Pearson Brush ($125), Warren-Tricomi Brush with Boar Bristles ($35), Spornette Classic Cushion Collection Nylon Bristle Brush 21 ($35) #4: Dido - "Chic and Choppy" (Short)Pop sensation Dido's look is truly a breath of fresh air. Celebrity stylist Anthony Barrow of the Arrojo Cutler Salon in New York City explains how to get this $200 look. First, shampoo hair and apply a lightweight conditioner to the ends only to keep the style from flattening out. Then, towel dry hair and work some mousse evenly from the roots to the ends. Set your dryer on low speed and high heat, and loosely dry the hair by working your fingers through it. Once the hair is partially dry, use your hands to bend and curve sections as desired, using your fingers like a curling iron. Once hair is completely dry, lightly spray a volumizing tonic on the ends only and use a small flat iron to re-emphasize any of the ends you want to give a little extra flip or curl. As a finishing touch, use styling wax on the "key points" of this style. Recommended products: Aveda Pure-Fume Brilliant Shampoo ($10), Aveda Pure-Fume Brilliant Conditioner ($18), Aveda Phomollient Styling Foam ($12), Aveda Volumizing Tonic ($11), Aveda Self Control Stick ($16) #5: Julia Roberts - "Soft Sexy Curls" (Long)Actress Julia Roberts is known to be a very independent personality, a quality that is certainly reflected in her choice of hairstyle, done exclusively by Antonio Prieto of the Antonio Preito Salon in New York City. First, blend a combination of styling mousse and shine product and apply evenly to the hair working from the roots to the ends using a comb. The hair is then dried in layers, starting from the lower layers until the entire head has been twisted into sections, always working from the bottom to the top. Break up the twists and then use a medium-barrel curling iron to randomly intensify a few of the curls. Lastly, apply a shine product to the curls by lightly re-twisting each section. It should be noted that over-washing can result in a depletion of the hair's natural oils, which will result in weaker curls. Recommended products: Phytostyle Volumizing Mousse ($15), Pure Hair Grapeseed Finishing Pureshine ($15.40)

Celebrity Hairstyles

If you flip through a magazine, go to the movies or watch television, you have probably seen some celebrity hairstyles that are stunning (and maybe some that are not). Most people have celebrity hairstyles that they would like to imitate, but assume that copying celebrity hairstyles requires perfect locks or spending a fortune at a hair salon.Although there is nothing quite like a professionally set hairstyle, it is possible to imitate many of the looks you see on the runway and in the media. All that is required is patience, persistence, a good eye and the right equipment and techniques.Almost all starlets have their own version of the sedu, one of the most popular celebrity hairstyles. The sedu is a straight look, and many of these straight hair dos are “messy” and have a “blown” look to them, although some are sleek. Jennifer Anniston is the actress who made the sedu look famous, and she has an advantage with her naturally ruler-straight locks. However, you can have naturally curly and wavy hair and still achieve sedu-perfect straightness with a flat iron. To have a look like Jennifer Anniston’s, apply the following techniques:• Shampoo and condition hair (conditioner is especially important, since it tames curls and waves)• Brush your hair flat and apply gel• Blow dry your hair with a round brush. Point the barrel of the dryer downard to avoid frizzing and waving• Take one inch wide sections of your hair and press it flat with a sedu iron. If you want a perfectly straight “do” do not flip at the ends, or you can flip the hair or out by twisting the ends around the flat iron.Reese Witherspoon sported one of the most memorable celebrity hairstyles at the academy awards. Her elegant chignon elicited as much comment as her spectacular performance. A chignon is not difficult to shape, and is formed by a ponytail that is perched just a few inches off the neck.

The chignon is good for long to medium length hair, since the “pony” requires enough hair to be formed into a roll.•Shampoo and condition hair (you might want to do this the day before the big occasion, since freshly washed pony’s are more difficult to style)•Rinse out the conditioner and follow with a cool rinse for shine•Towel dry and apply a leave-in conditioner•Dry with a blowdryer and a paddle brush•Form a ponytail at the nape of the neck and divide the pony into three sections•Curl the pony sections with a curling iron and pin the curls until they are cool•Brush the pony gently and wrap it around the elastic band, arranging it to the right size and shape.Keira Knightley’s new super-short “pixie do” became an overnight sensational celebrity hairstyle, although some felt it was a bit drastic. Still, she has the eyes and the perfect face for a pixie do.You don’t have to be a Keira look-a-like to look good in a pixie; if your face is somewhat oval, it is a good style.•The stylist should form the back into a “wedge shape”•Leave generous bangs in front for a feminine look, and to emphasize the eyes•Adjust the bangs according to your mood. You might want to curl them or to straighten them with a sedu iron. The Pixie style is a sassy look which is quite attractive, and is a good style for summer.Paris Hilton sported some elegant sedu bobs until she sheared most of her locks. What she will do with her super-short hair now, remains to be seen, but you can re-create her signature bobs with a sedu iron, gently flipping the ends inward or outward according to your mood. Paris also wore her hair sometimes in a half-up, half-down, asymmetrical style. Experiment with pulling parts of your hair up and leaving them down according to your mood.
